Nannette

I love making wedding invitations, and this set was extra spectacular because the bride's only direction was the colour palette (mint, blush and gold). I loved that and with carte blanche in terms of design, I wanted to make sure that this set captured what a great party should be.

The Save the Dates were postcard style with the couple's engagement photo on the front. The Bridal Shower invitations were traditional card and envelope with a champagne theme.

And finally the wedding invitations included a main invitation, map, reception card and RSVP card.

Some additional design touches to note are a return address stamp that used etched brush stroke and was stamped with gold ink. As well, white and gold twine held the RSVP card and envelope together and custom envelope inserts were flecked with gold.

The design of the primary stationary was where the concept really came to life. The wild watercolour brush strokes drape over the paper and the copy is packed with personality and spirit. Added to that, the gold foil brings a touch of glamour amongst the stationary's free spirit. This really set the tone for the event – getting the guests excited for a special event that’s not just another typical wedding. I intended each invitation to deliver the promise of a wild, fun and glamorous time that guests wouldn't miss for the world.

Boarding Pass

In creating this design for a destination wedding, I took it as an opportunity to spin a cliché into a colourful and quirky invitation set.

By embracing the boarding pass look, I knew that as soon as anyone opened these invitations they’d know they were invited along for a fun-filled trip. They include a main invitation, rsvp luggage tag, a directional/map card and a boarding pass holder.

Gloria

While discussing invitations with Gloria, I found she wanted the invitations to walk the line between traditional high-end influences and modern colourful treatments as her wedding was going to follow that same theme.

I decided the designs should make a contrast of these influences – traditional black type in contrast with colourful brush lettering, ivory wax seals against bright colourful water colours

Team Panda

Paul and Allison were getting married, and in joining their names they found an adorable portmanteau: Team Panda. (P)aul AND (A)llison = Team Panda... get it!?

The entire design concept for their wedding invitations took it’s cue from that name expressing their adorable cuteness and colourful personalities with a little bit of dorkiness mixed in. These influences can be seen throughout the bright contrast colour selection, playful typography and custom illustration.
